The Rights of a child
The purpose of the Rights of the Child exhibition is to advocate and promote
children’s rights and to increase awareness of regulations and documents that
have
developed and published by the international organization: UNICEF (United
Nations Children’s Fund) concerning this topic.
This years theme is:
Strong
children, strong nation, strong communities, strong families
The purpose of the rights of the child week is to promote children's right to:
1. Equal treatment
irrespective of race, religion or nationality
2. Opportunities and facilities for optimal mental, physical,
socio-emotional and spiritual development
3. A home, adequate nutrition, recreation and medical care
4. Special care and education when children have a mental, physical or
social disability
5. Love and understanding
6. Free education and recreation
7. Help and protection first in accidents or other emergencies
8. Protection against all forms of neglect, cruelty and exploitation
9. Grow up in an atmosphere of love, unity, tolerance and friendship
10. A name a nationality from birth.
