Fashion & Modeling Workshop

Cultural Awareness Program 2008:
For those who want a career in fashion or modeling or just are interested in fashion, there was a Fashion & Modeling  Workshop on Thursday February 21st at the library. Sandra Illidge, Kaisha Peters, Bola Badejo and Bevil Byam talked about how they found their way in this tricky world. Well known radio presenter Charity  interviewed them. And you could even go on the catwalk, showing fancy design clothes made by these young and popular designers.

More than 80 teenagers attended a very successful workshop on Fashion & Modeling at the library Thursday February 21st. The hall of the library was transformed into a fashion exhibition for this special occasion. The workshop was the first role-model workshop organized within the framework of Cultural Awareness Program the library organizes in cooperation with the Ark Foundation. Local fashion designers Kaisha Peters, Sandra Illidge, Bola Badejo and Francis Matthew featured in the workshop as well as make-up artist Bevil Byam. Well known radio presenter ‘Lady Destiny’ an alias for Charity Dunker, acted as MC. In the informative session of the workshop the fashion designers and the make up artist told their live stories. They were interviewed by Lady Destiny and answered teenager’s questions about how to apply make up, how to become a fashion designer and some other aspects of their profession.

After this Q and A session it was time for a whirling fashion show in which different products of the local  fashion designers were presented to the public.

The next workshops of the Cultural Awareness Program are scheduled  on  March 20 and  April 3rd . The subjects will be
‘Music & Dance’ and Poetry.
