Read to me
It’s never too early to teach a child the love of books.
Developing a love of books is rewarding and exciting; and an easy way to give
young children a great start.
A continuation from our Book Start St. Maarten Campaign, “Read to me”, which is
a story time program
for babies and toddlers, it will take place every 2nd Thursday in each
month at the Philipsburg Jubilee Library.
Story time is an interactive program designed to promote early language skills
and help foster
a lifelong love for books and reading. Story time introduces children to
literature,
increases their vocabulary and provides them with a chance to be with other
children.
It also helps children to improve their listening skills, exercise their
attention spans, and to start a library tradition from a very early age.
“Read to me” is 60 minutes of storytelling, rhyming, singing, and other related
activities.
Your child will be introduced to group participation, new books and stories, but
most importantly, the magic of storytelling
Please, be on time!
